Blog 3: The Wind That Shakes The Barley Review I’m not a “war drama film” kind of person, so I didn’t enjoy that much the movie. However, I can appreciate the historical importance of the story and plus now I have a closed idea of the Irish culture and history. My favorite characters were Damien and Sinear. I think that the construction of Damien character is very realistic and human, showing his insecurities and doubts at first and then his loyalty and determination, I can relate to those emotions. And on the other hand I’m a big fan of strong females characters, so I really liked the role of Sinear, who gives another perspective to the story and also showed the importance of women in the Irish history. A thing that I really like about the film was the photography and the locations, I never seen pictures of the Irish lands before, so that was pretty amazing. My favorite scene was one at the beginning of the movie, when an old lady sings at the funeral of Damien’s friend who ...

Blog 2: The best concert ever

Imagen
One of the best concerts that I ever went was also the one who I expected the most in my life, literally. Last year I saw Foals at La Cupula for their world tour presenting their latest album What Went Down (2015). Foals are an English rock band from Oxford, England formed in 2005. They have come to Chile two times before. The first time they open the show for The Red Hot Chili Peppers on 2011 and then they came to the 2013 edition of the Lollapalooza Festival. For that both opportunities I was at school with no money. So I was determinate that the next time that Foals came to Chile I was going to see them no matter what. In 2015, in my first year at the University, one of the first friends that I made was María Fernanda a.k.a. Chopi through our fanaticism for this band. That year also Foals announces their tour and we immediately bought the tickets on April of that year. The show was planned to happen on the 11 of October of 2015. Latin America was the first continent on the...

Blog 1: A country I would like to visit

Imagen
One of the countries I would like to visit in the nearest future, as soon as the opportunity and the money came is Japan because I love their culture, their food, their landscapes and specially anime. I grow up seeing all these characters on TV like Sakura Card Captor, Sailor Moon, Digimon, Naruto, Doraemon and the Ghibli’s movies. I was amaze by the difference between Chile and what I saw on TV, how they eat, what they eat, how they sit, their legends and religion are different, even their streets are different! I would like to go across the country and see their temples, go to their coffee shops, eat all kind of food and basically learn about their custom and traditions. Some of the places that I really don’t want to miss are the Ghibli Museum which is a museum dedicated to the art and technique of animation and work of the Japanese animation Studio Ghibli. Also I would love to go to Sensō-ji which is one of the oldest and most significant Buddhist temples in Tokyo. ...
