Blog 2: The best concert ever

One of the best concerts that I ever went was also the one who I expected the most in my life, literally. Last year I saw Foals at La Cupula for their world tour presenting their latest album What Went Down (2015).

Foals are an English rock band from Oxford, England formed in 2005. They have come to Chile two times before. The first time they open the show for The Red Hot Chili Peppers on 2011 and then they came to the 2013 edition of the Lollapalooza Festival. For that both opportunities I was at school with no money. So I was determinate that the next time that Foals came to Chile I was going to see them no matter what.

In 2015, in my first year at the University, one of the first friends that I made was María Fernanda a.k.a. Chopi through our fanaticism for this band. That year also Foals announces their tour and we immediately bought the tickets on April of that year.

The show was planned to happen on the 11 of October of 2015. Latin America was the first continent on their list but the vocalist of the band, Yannis Philippakis, got sick and they have to re-schedule the concert for a year later. So we ended up going to the concert on October of 2016. We wait for over a year and when the time comes it’s was just perfect.

They played all my favorites songs, even the ones who they not played anymore. We were so close of the stage and everyone surround us were just excited as we are. We made some friends during the line to enter to the theatre and also one of our best friends bought the tickets days before the show, so the delay was so so so worth it.
