Jimmy´s Hall Review
I don’t love
the film, but I don’t hate it either. I think the plot is great and knowing
that is based on a true story make it more interesting. And as I said in the last entrance, I don’t
know that much about the Irish’s history, so I always appreciate learning new
stuff thought a film.
My favorite
character has to be Jimmy’s mother. She was so sweet and funny and also she reminds
me of my grandmother, specially the scene when she pretended to lose the key so
she could help Jimmy escape.
One thing
that I really liked about the film was all the landscapes and locations. Since
the last movie that we saw,” The Wind That Shakes The Barley”, I was amaze by
all the green on their fields, a color that I don’t see often in Santiago. In
the other hand, I think the movie was really slow and I get lost and bored sometimes.
My favorite
scene was the contrast between the moment when all the people was dancing and
singing at Jimmy’s Hall on opposition to scene of the priest’s speech at the
church. I think it was a great idea put on those scenes that way.
